Partner
advises on dairy farming, food and added value...

Having graduated from Seale-Hayne, Mike worked firstly as an adviser with Genus, before joining Andersons in 1994 at the Melton Mowbray office. In 1998 he relocated to head up the Andersons Salisbury consultancy team and since that time has worked predominately in the South and South-West of England.

Mike has nearly 30 years’ experience of helping clients achieve their business objectives. He provides advice to all sectors of farming and also has undertaken considerable work in respect of added value opportunities and diversification projects, as well as food chain development.

He has a specialist knowledge of the dairy sector, both in the UK and overseas, and has travelled extensively in Europe, New Zealand, China and the USA, adding perspective to his work in assisting clients to develop their dairy businesses in the UK. He also has a good understanding of organic production.

Mike is a Nuffield Scholar and in 2017 completed a Trehane Fellowship proposing a future strategy for the UK Dairy Industry.

Away from work Mike lives with his family near Salisbury and enjoys all outdoor activities, particularly cycling and cricket.

After six years in farm management, firstly in Suffolk and subsequently in Eire, John joined Andersons in 1985.

For 25 years he was based at the Melton Mowbray office, heading the regional consultancy team.

One of the founding Partners of the Andersons Midlands practice, formed in 2001, John is now based at their office in Hereford, established in 2010 to meet the growing requirement for advice in the West Midlands.

John works with businesses in all sectors of agriculture and horticulture and has a detailed working knowledge of every aspect of business advice. He increasingly advises clients on strategy and business development, as well as having particular experience in helping businesses address the issue of succession.

He has a specialist knowledge of top and soft fruit production, as well as coordinating Andersons Midlands work on joint ventures, contract farming agreements and collaboration. He also has considerable experience in Expert Witness work.

John lives with his family in Herefordshire. Away from work he is a keen cricket and hockey player and enthusiastic fisherman.

Having graduated from Seale-Hayne Agricultural College, Sebastian joined Andersons in 1993 at the Melton Mowbray office, following three years as a farm manager on a 900 acre dairy and arable farm in the south of England.

He is one of the founding partners of the Andersons Midlands business, established in Spring 2001.

Sebastian is now based at Andersons Midlands Leicester office and works throughout central England, providing business advice to a wide range of farmers and growers with crop, livestock and non-farming enterprises. His particular areas of expertise include the development of costings and benchmarking systems, strategic business planning and helping businesses with the issues of succession. He also has considerable experience of farm diversification projects, as well as joint ventures and cooperation between farm businesses.

Sebastian also works with a number of organisations in the allied industries, helping them to understand individual farm economics and the implications for their own businesses.

Born in 1966, Sebastian has two children. His interests include farming, restoring classic cars, playing cricket and competitive motorcycling.

Having graduated from Reading University with a degree in Agricultural Business Management, Lily joined Andersons Midlands in 2013. She operates from the Salisbury office and became a partner in 2019.

Lily works throughout the central and southern England, providing independent business advice to a range of farmers and rural businesses. Coming from a family farming business in Dorset, she has practical knowledge of both conventional and organic dairy farming. Her areas of expertise include preparation of business plans, rent tenders, assistance with a variety of grant applications and strategic business planning.

Lily lives in Dorset and away from work her interests include horse riding and picking up with her two unruly cocker spaniels.

Harry graduated from the Royal Agricultural University in 2016, having obtained a BSc Hons degree in Agriculture.

In January 2017 he joined the Andersons Midlands team in Salisbury and works throughout the South of England, providing independent business advice to a range of farm businesses. Brought up in Warwickshire, Harry has practical experience in both organic and conventional livestock farms. Since joining Andersons Midlands, he has taken responsibility for the recording of management information, as well as working on business reviews, rent tenders and grant applications.

Harry’s interests include playing for his local rugby and cricket teams, as well as rearing lamb from his small flock of Lleyn ewes.

One of the longest-serving members of the team, Jo joined Andersons in 1984 and works for a range of businesses in the East Midlands.

Jo specialises in the preparation of management accounts and advising clients on designing and setting up administrative systems.

Jo and her husband run a livery yard and farm near Oakham where they live with their two daughters.

Caroline has worked for Andersons Midlands since 2008 and is responsible for the administration and running of the Salisbury office.

Caroline is often the first person both new and existing clients will speak to when contacting Andersons Midlands and she will ensure that their enquiry is directed to the appropriate team member and is dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.

Caroline lives with her family in Amesbury and enjoys dog walking and gardening in her free time.

Victoria graduated from Hartpury University in 2021 where she achieved an honours degree in Agriculture (Livestock Production). Victoria joined Andersons Midlands in 2022, as a Farm Business Consultant, operating from the Salisbury office.

Prior to joining Andersons, Victoria gained extensive practical knowledge working for several years on a mixed dairy, beef and sheep farm. 

Her areas of expertise include assistance with Countryside Stewardship and Environmental Scheme Applications, Grants and Business Planning.

Victoria lives in Somerset and away from work her interests include horse riding, reading and dog walking.

Laura has worked for Andersons Midlands since 2023 and is part of our administration team at our Salisbury Office.
